I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. As the daughter of a seamstress, I learned to sew from my mother who made most of our clothes when we were kids. Of course we hated this. In my teens, she began to get the Quilting bug which I did not catch until several years later. When I retired from a career in nursing a few years ago, and moved to North Carolina, I joined the guild. I feel as though I have found my people. I receive so much inspiration from fellow members and enjoy hearing about everyone’s Quilting journey. Since I joined the leadership team, I have an even stronger sense of community and friendship.
