Pam Smith, Queen Bee
The Tar River Piecemakers Quilt Guild (TRPQG) Sew Social Bee offers a warm and inviting space for quilters to gather and work on their individual projects. The primary goal of this bee is to foster friendships and provide mutual support among members as they pursue their quilting endeavors. This informal setting allows participants to seek guidance or share techniques in a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal contrast to the more structured and formal guild meetings where such opportunities may be less accessible.
Unlike traditional guild gatherings, the Sew Social Bee operates on a drop-in basis, free from attendance records or formal agendas. This flexible approach encourages members to attend as their schedules allow, creating a laid-back environment where creativity can flourish. The bee takes place on the 4th Saturday of each month, beginning around 9:30 AM in a spacious meeting room, with some members choosing to stay until 3 or 4 PM. During these sessions, participants focus on advancing their personal quilting projects, enjoying the camaraderie and shared passion for quilting.
Meetings are held on the 4th Saturday at 10:00 am in the Imperial Centre, Education Building, 344 Falls Rd, Rocky Mount, NC. All are welcome. to join, whether you’re an experienced quilter or just beginning your quilting journey.
