Frankie Powell, Queen Bee

The quilting bee was formed with the primary goal of educating members on the embroidery functions of their sewing machines. Initially, no one in the group had much knowledge about this craft, so they decided to come together to learn and grow. They believe that a collective effort often leads to better solutions and ideas than working alone.

As a machine embroidery group, members own a variety of machine brands, and they support each other by sharing tips, tricks, and advice on how to stitch designs on different garments and fabrics. During their monthly meetings, hosted in members’ homes, they exchange ideas and frequently hold demonstrations. Their projects have ranged from quilt tops and monogramming to creating small gifts and tackling various embroidery challenges. In addition to their meetings, they have also arranged classes at local quilt shops to learn new techniques, further enhancing their skills.

Meetings are held on the 3 rd Saturday at 10:00 am in a member’s home. All are welcome.
