Lisa Clark, Queen Bee
The Tar River Piecemakers Quilt Guild (TRPQG) Busy Bees strive to embody their group’s name by staying constantly engaged. Their activities are varied and communal, centered around creating donation projects, exchanging ideas, exploring new techniques, and offering mutual support for individual quilting endeavors. Recently, they proudly completed two patriotic quilts destined for the Quilts of Valor program, a collaborative effort involving the donation and collective cutting of red, white and blue scraps. Working together, they meticulously pieced the quilt tops, uniting their efforts with skillful teamwork.
In addition to their charitable projects, they participate in a lively shoebox exchange. Each member curated a box filled with their favorite fabrics, which circulates among the group. Every participant crafts quilt block using the fabrics from each box, eagerly anticipating the grand reveal in January when they will receive the completed blocks fashioned from their own contributions.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Imperial Centre, Education Building, 344 Falls Rd, Rocky Mount, NC. All are welcome.
